With grief, sometimes we don’t know what we don’t know. Sometimes, we don’t know what we don’t talk about. These workshops are designed to help individuals and groups grow in their capacity to move through challenging times better together.

WHAT HAS BEEN LOST
GRIEVING
OPEN WOUNDS:
LIVING LOSSES, AMBIGUOUS LOSS, & ANTICIPATORY GRIEF
Grief doesn’t always involve physical death. Grief shows up throughout our lives for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, even positive changes (such as having a baby, graduating, or retiring) can lead to feelings of grief.
In this workshop, we talk about Anticipatory Grief, Ambiguous Loss, and Living Loss. Using real-life examples, we will also look at strategies to help people navigate this unfamiliar terrain.
HOW TO SUPPORT SOMEONE:
THROUGH GRIEF
When someone we care about experiences a loss and is grieving, it isn’t easy knowing what to say or do to support them. Because grief is uncomfortable, we often “give them space.” We create distance when what they may need is connection and understanding. This workshop introduces strategies to support people through tough times, and to help us identify the “stuff” that gets in the way of showing up for our people when they need us most.
LESSONS FROM THE FRONTLINES:
ALL THAT YOU’RE NOT READY TO HEAR
This workshop will discuss how we die and what Hospice Palliative Care workers wish people knew long before they receive a diagnosis. We will explore various themes, such as what palliative care is (and isn’t), how to manage expectations about the illness experience, coping strategies, and alternative ways to navigate end-of-life care.
GRIEF, ILLNESS, DEATH & BEREAVEMENT:
LEARNING TO LIVE IN THE SHADOWS
This interactive, one-day session explores the intersection of stress, trauma, and grief, with specific attention given to the impact of traumatic loss on mourners. The role of attachment will also be discussed, on how it impacts the grief experience and our ability to support a grieving person.
INTO WHO YOU ARE
GROUNDING
WHO AM I NOW?
REBUILDING AFTER LIFE’S STORMS
Experiencing loss often challenges how we understand the world, our relationships and ourselves. Often, we feel disconnected from who we used to be, and we feel lost and disoriented. Tools such as the Modern Enneagram and Values Mapping can help us reconnect with what is essential. This workshop offers practical strategies for finding our way back to ourselves.
WHEN IT’S OKAY TO SAY “NO”
(BOUNDARIES)
Grief is an energy vampire. It demands a lot of our time, energy, and attention. After experiencing a loss, boundaries may need to be created or re-established to make space for healing. This workshop discusses boundaries, why they are essential to our well-being, and how to set them. We will also explore why maintaining our boundaries can be so tricky at times
GETTING YOUR DUCKS IN A ROW
ADVANCE CARE & END OF LIFE PLANNING
Even if no active treatment options are available, there is always something that we can do to alleviate pain and suffering at the end of life. This workshop aims to provide tools and strategies for un-complicating the grief experience for friends and family members following a death. We will discuss Advance Care Planning, Legacy Work, and what other pieces must be considered to “have your ducks in a row.”
